Organ nb. 28
The Salesian Church of Bethlehem was built in 1892 and a liturgical organ was installed there in 1906, work of the Italian organ-builder Vegessi-Bossi, opus number 1140. The instrument is placed on a platform at the back of the church’s choir.
This pneumatic organ was electrified by Br. Delfin Taboada in the 1960’s. Unfortunately, it was not maintained since and is today unplayable. A complete restoration of the entire action is needed, as well as a new intonation.
The acoustics is excellent. Many still remember the concerts that were given there by Father Giuseppe Georgis who was the organist of this church for many years.
